HotlineThe Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is an international voluntary product standard designed to track and verify the recycled content in end products. This standard applies across the entire supply chain, ensuring compliance with requirements for traceability, environmental protection, social responsibility, chemical safety, and accurate labeling.
GRS was first developed by Control Union Certifications in 2008 and was officially transferred to Textile Exchange on January 1, 2011. Since then, Textile Exchange has continuously updated and enhanced this standard to meet the growing demands for sustainable development in the global recycling industry.

Applicable to products containing at least 20% recycled content (with some exceptions).
Suitable for any verified recycled material and can be applied across any supply chain.
Provides chain of custody verification for recycled materials, in line with the Content Claims Standard (CCS).
Only products with at least 50% recycled content are eligible for GRS labeling.
Establishes social and environmental principles during the processing of GRS-certified products.
Restricts hazardous chemicals in processing but does not regulate chemicals in recovered materials or final products.
